Inshallah.

"Ezzeitouna" radio station for Holy Koran to start broadcasting on first day of Ramadan
TUNIS, SEPT. 12, 2007 (TAP) - As instructed by President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, "Ezzeitouna" radio station for the Holy Koran will start, on September 13, 2007, the first day of Ramadan, 1428 of Hegira, broadcasting non-stop its programmes on FM, to cover more than 90 pc of the population.
It will be broadcasting programmes from its Carthage- based head office. Its programmes will be 80 pc focusing on the Holy Book. Koran recitation will be performed by young Tunisians. The other programmes of the new radio station will be devoted to the Sirat of Prophet Mohamed, accounts of the prophets and invocations, in addition to courses in phonetics and Koran psalmody, as part of interactive programmes with the listeners. The radio station will broadcast continuously the five daily prayers, from the El Abidine Mosque. The "Traouih" and Friday prayers will also be broadcast from other Tunisian mosques.
Launching of this radio station is part of the unfailing solicitude lavished on the sublime Islamic religion and the valorisation of its precepts and encouragement of the dissemination of the enlightened thinking and noble values of Islam, including notably tolerance, mutual help and moderation.
This initiative is also part of boosting the private initiative in the audio-visual field and to achieving complementarity between the public and private sectors, as well as part of the attachment to forge ahead on the path of setting up a media apparatus where wider spheres will be opened to specialisation and diversity.
Mr. Kamel Omrane, a university professor, known for his skills, who has been chosen as chairman of this radio station, said that the initiator of the project saw to it that the station be fitted out with top-notch technical equipments, that would provide it, as well as all its staff, with the best conditions for success.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Sakhr Materi, promoter and initiator of the project, voiced his gratitude to President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who had favourably received the idea, materialising in this way his constant keenness to grant all the required interest to the Islamic religion and the people in charge of mosques, so that Tunisia remains an radiant beacon in the Arab Islamic world, and a symbol of dialogue and fruitful interaction between cultures and civilisations.
