Airspy si fa Mini, la superchiavetta SDR multipiattaforma è ancora più piccola.

Non si fermano mai gli sviluppi e i nuovi annunci sul fronte del Software Defined Radio amatoriale. Se ieri SDRplay annunciava l'acquisizione della piattaforma software italiana Studio1, oggi Airplay lancia una nuova variante del suo front-end a larga banda con fattore di forma "USB dongle", pensato per applicazioni VHF-UHF ma estendibile "verso il basso" con un add-on opzionale chiamato SpyVerter. Dietro il design di Airplay, lo ricordo, ci sono Youssef Touil e Benjamin Vernoux, il primo molto noto per il software di demodulazione SDRsharp. D'ora in poi Airspy R2 avrà una sorellina minore, Airspy Mini, ancora più somigliante alle classiche chiavette SDR. Il nuovo ricevitore utilizza presumibilmente un tuner R820T2 ma a differenza di molte chiavette ha una conversione ADC a 12 bit, per una migliore capacità. Il prezzo in pre-ordine sul sito Itead.cc (disponibilità tra dieci giorni) è di 86 euro e 50, al cambio attuale.
Ecco le caratteristiche della versione Mini, molto simili a quelle di Airspy. Il dispositivo promette la massima compatibilità diretta con software per tutte le piattaforme operative, compresi le piattaforme pc "essenziali" come Raspberry.
