La società britannica Pure ha reso disponibili in questi giorni due prodotti radiofonici/DAB davvero interessanti, anche se purtroppo ancora non si sa quale sarà la data di commercializzazione in Italia (sempre che Pure decida di distribuirla). Il primo prodotto è il nuovo arrivato della serie di apparecchi "da cucina" (non nel senso che si mangiano, è la categoria britannica degli apparecchi da tavolo o mensola) Evoke, il modello F4. La radio ibrida Pure riceve in FM e DAB+ e integra il software per la gestione dei flussi che arrivano dalle Internet Radio. Può utilizzare le funzioni di sospensione temporanea dell'ascolto e di registrazione su memoria USB. Ma soprattutto supporta connessioni wi-fi e Bluetooth. Con la prima è possibile diffondere la musica di Evoke F4 verso i nuovi altoparlanti wireless della famiglia Pure Jongo, realizzando impianti senza fili per la diffusione sonora in più stanze. Il Bluetooth permette alla F4 di ridiffondere l'audio ricevuto da dispositivi palmari o di instradarlo verso un singolo altoparlante Jongo (anche questi dispositivi supportano sia il wi-fi, sia Bluetooth). Il costo suggerito è piuttosto alto, 180 sterline, ma la Evoke F4 è davvero versatile.
Novità anche per la citata famiglia Jongo, che ora dispone anche di un adattatore con uscite analogiche (Jongo A2, questo il nome del nuovo dispositivo, integra un convertitore DAC stereo a 192 kHz). In questo modo è per esempio possibile interfacciarsi con un impianto stereo per ascoltare la musica in arrivo da un iPad, semplicemente installando la app gratuita Pure Connect (per iOS e Android). La stessa app serve del resto per gestire un apparecchio come Evoke F4, usandolo come altoparlante remoto. Insomma, tutta una serie di possibilità offerte dalla radio digitale - Pure offre anche un servizio di streaming musicale chiamato Pure Music - che dovrebbero rendere ancora più attraente una maggiore diffusione della radiofonia DAB+ in Italia. L'adattatore Jongo A2 costa 100 sterline, mentre una singola cassa portatile Jongo S3 ne costa 170 ed è compatibile con lo streaming da dispositivi smart con Pure Connect installata. I prezzi non sono particolarmente abbordabili, ma il mercato di questi prodotti si sta animando e in prospettiva dovremmo assistere al consueto fenomeno della loro riduzione.
